Conversation 1: The Concert |
Secretary |
The Aksoy company, a very good day to you. |
Sophie Gerland |
My name is Gerland, could I please have a quick word with Ms. Zacharias on extension 2467? |
Secretary |
One moment, I'll put you through. |
Barbara Zacharias |
Zacharias. |
Sophie Gerland |
Hello, Barbara, it's Sophie. |
Barbara Zacharias |
Hello, Sophie. How are things? |
Sophie Gerland |
Things are OK. Listen, I've got the following suggestion for you. On Saturday the eleventh of October there's a nice concert of Händel's music at Charlottenburg Palace. I particularly like listening to Händel and Charlottenburg Palace is certainly worth seeing. So I'd like to go to the concert - but I'd prefer not to go on my own. Would you like to come with me? |
Barbara Zacharias |
Of course, I'd love to come! That's a great idea. |
Sophie Gerland |
Would you like me to get a ticket for you as well? |
Barbara Zacharias |
Yes, that's nice of you. |
Sophie Gerland |
Where is the Palace? |
Barbara Zacharias |
On the Spandauer Damm. Behind the Egyptian Museum, I think. |
Sophie Gerland |
The Egyptian Museum is opposite the Berggruen collection, isn't it? |
Barbara Zacharias |
Could be. Where shall we meet? In front of the underground station at Sophie-Charlotte-Platz? Or perhaps at the entrance to the Palace? |
Sophie Gerland |
Shall we say at the entrance to the Palace at a quarter to seven? |
Barbara Zacharias |
Agreed! Shall we go to the disco tonight? |
Sophie Gerland |
Oh no, I don't feel like doing that. I don't want to go out dancing today. |
